AHBMT meetings

The AHBMT holds two meetings a year; the spring meeting and the AGM meeting (held in the autumn). There is usually a short business meeting followed by a talk by an invited speaker and/or discussion and debate about biodynamic massage-related topics. Meetings are held in either London or Cambridge.

Recent speakers have included

  • Kathrin Stauffer
  • Dr Peter Mackereth
  • Kate Codrington

AHBMT Autumn/AGM Meeting 1st October 2010 in London.

Ruth Cowan will lead a session on Belly Dance Therapy and explore with us how it relates to biodynamic massage therapy and psychotherapy. Ruth says:

"This will be an experiential session of belly dance therapy focusing on grounding, breathing and isolating areas of the body in movement and in stillness. We will focus on the pelvic area with respect and curiosity. The slow belly dance movements are used mindfully to connect with the body in an internal felt sense leading to dialogue with this internal relationship. I will talk briefly about how I use this work therapeutically."

Ruth is an Integrative Body Psychotherapist and Supervisor who also uses Biodynamic Massage in her practice. She has facilitated groups in various settings since 1991, and devised and led Belly Dance Therapy groups since 2003 privately and for organisations.

The meeting will be held in the Cartwright Room, Canterbury Hall, University of London, 19 - 26 Cartwright Gardens, London WC1H 9EF from 2pm until 4pm:

The AHBMT AGM will take place between 11am and 1pm on the same day.
