AHBMT meetings

The AHBMT holds two meetings a year; the spring meeting and the AGM meeting (held in the autumn). There is usually a short business meeting followed by a talk by an invited speaker and/or discussion and debate about biodynamic massage-related topics. Meetings are held in either London or Cambridge.

AHBMT Spring Meeting 2pm - 4pm on Saturday 6 March in London. Kate Codrington will talk tabout massage work in the first trimester of pregnancy. Afterwards we will have a guided discussion around "Working biodynamically with the mother and unborn child and infertility - discussion and exploration."

AHBMT Meetings 2009
The Spring Meeting will be held on 28th March (1-4pm), and the AGM Meeting on 3rd October (AGM 11-1, 2-4 Autumn Meeting).

AGM Meeting 2008
This was held on Saturday 4th October in London

Topic: discussion about the recent AHBMT membership survey, as published in the Autumn 2008 journal (Issue 11 Vol 2)

Spring Meeting 2008
This will be held on Saturday 5th April at Friends House, 173 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ.

Discussing our use of biodynamic massage in our work
There will be a panel of five practitioners presenting aspects of their biodynamic massage work, followed by a panel discussion and plenary session.

AGM Meeting 2007
This was held on Saturday 6th October in Cambridge. Members of the AHBMT Committee led members through a Powerpoint presentation of the Public Relations Audit commissioned by the Association, followed by an enthusiastic discussion.

Spring Meeting 2007
This was held on 24th March in Cambridge

Presenting problems: Common conditions encountered in practice. You are invited to come along and share your experiences of working through Biodynamic Massage with specific disorders and symptoms, and to hear how others work with these. The following is a small sample to get you thinking: IBS, Eating Disorders, Cancer, Anxiety/panic, Arthritis and much more. A few experienced practitioners have been invited to start discussion on some of these topics and we hope you will come along with your ideas and experiences so that we can make this a worthwhile learning and sharing experience.

AGM Meeting 2006
This was held on Saturday 7th October in London.

Biodynamic Massage - Past Present and Future
The Panel Members will consist of representatives from the training schools and senior practitioners:

  • Gill Westland (CBPC)
  • Monika Schaible (Chiron)
  • Enya Steinberg (LSBP)

This will be an opportunity to look at how our work has developed, how its context has changed, and perhaps what the future has in store. Discussion will be led by the panel, but will include the audience.

Spring Meeting 2006
The Spring Meeting of the Association took place on Saturday March 25th 2006 in Cambridge:

Massage in Schools Programme
Sophie Blond, Vice-Chair of Massage In Schools Association

Sophie's talk will cover the history, aims and objectives of the Massage In Schools Programme. She will talk about the benefits, the way in which it is introduced into schools, the role of the Instructor and Trainer and some of the issues that arise, for instance: special needs, resistance to touch, disruptive behaviour. There will be opportunities for some 'mini tasters', and Sophie will illustrate her talk with anecdotes from her own and her colleagues' experience.

AGM Meeting 2005
The 2005 AGM of the AHBMT was held at Ealing Meeting House on Saturday 15th October.
In the afternoon a presentation was made by the organisation HANDLE.
