Editorial

To paraphrase the title of Vicki Martin's article, learning from the East and West seems to be the theme of this issue. Vicki describes interconnections between Chinese medicine and biodynamic theory, whilst Lindsay Fovargue writes about  (preliminary) research and the effect of biodynamic massage on clients suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. The concluding part of both articles will appear in the next issue.

Reports on the AChP conference held in Cambridge earlier this year follow as well as a fascinating glimpse of the "Breath of Life" conference attended by Andrea Lant and Gerrie Millar.

Lorna Mcneur has written a book review of Susan Aposhyan's 'Body-Mind Psychotherapy'; a highly accessible account of the principles and techniques behind BMP. The author's Buddhist background informs her psychotherapeutic approach, blending East and West.

Brett's letter from the Chair includes ideas from the executive committee which will need your comments and support as well as information about the contents of the AGM in October.

I would last but not least like to welcome Lorna McNeur as the new co-editor. She has been very active for this issue and her support is much appreciated by Vicki and myself.

The deadline for the next issue is Friday 20th January.
