Editorial

Most of you will have heard by now of Gerda Boyesen's death at the end of 2005. As the founder of Biodynamic Massage Gerda appeared a larger than life figure whenever she appeared in public. I only saw her once giving a lecture that lasted three hours at one of our AGMs. Still recovering from a broken hip Gerda exuded the energy and zest for life that seemed to belong to a much younger woman.

Gill Westland and Carlien van Heel reminisce about her intriguing career and personality, the teaching they both received from her, and give an account of her funeral which turned into a celebration of (her) life.

Vicki Martin has written a second and concluding part to her contemplation on similarities between Chinese medicine and biodynamic massage.

Brett's Letter from the Chair gives you an idea of what your committee gets up to behind closed doors, and an invitation to come and see for yourselves ...

We hope you will enjoy a new column we would like to see appear in every issue Ð something that relies on your contributions. We know that AHBMT therapists have their fair share and more of experiences both heartwarming, funny and unique when it comes to working in the world out there. Share them with a wider audience and contribute to involving more and more members in dialogue.

The deadline for the next issue is the end of August.
