Submissions

If you would like to submit a letter or an article to the journal editors, for consideration with a view to publication in a forthcoming issue, please consider the following requirements:

  • Articles may be edited for inclusion; this may entail a reduction in the length of the overall article.
  • Text should ideally be provided electronically as a Word file, or as text entered directly into an email.
  • Please DO NOT embed photographs and scans in the Word file but send them separately.
  • Diagrams will usually be re-drawn in the style of the journal. Please provide clear copy for this purpose.
  • Any scans or digital photographs for inclusion should be sent as high quality JPEG files or TIFF files (with or without LZW compression), at a resolution suitable for reproduction (minimum 200dpi at final size).
  • If you want us to do scans of photographs etc. for you, please send original photos and not home-printed reproductions (for example, a printout of a photo on your home bubblejet printer) as these will not scan at sufficient quality for reproduction. Original material will be returned on provision of a postage-paid self-addressed envelope.
  • We will not reproduce any images for which permission for copyright usage is dubious. This means, for example, that you cannot take images from web pages on the internet (unless the site clearly states that images may be reproduced in printed documents, or unless you have paid a copyright fee to do so), nor can we scan images from books or other printed material.

Electronic files can be sent either by email or on a floppy disc, 100MB zip disc or CD-ROM. Please DO NOT email files which add up to a total of more than 1MB in file size.

Contact details for the editor, Chris Reedyk, can be obtained from page 2 of a recent journal copy, or by emailing the AHBMT (please do NOT sent files of articles etc. to this email address).
